GETTING STARTED WITH

PACE Experiments

The PACE community has an ethos of creativity, curiosity, and innovation. We actively experiment together, counteracting philanthropy’s tendency to get mired in habits and antiquated strategies while embracing philanthropy’s unique ability to take risks.

Featured Experiment

PACE’s Civic Language Perceptions Project seeks to understand peoples’ perceptions of the language associated with civic engagement and democracy work. In 2021, we fielded a nationally representative survey of 5000 American voters. In 2023, we’re going to do another round.

More Experiments

social cohesion philanthropy

PACE believes that a healthy and functioning multiracial liberal democracy requires a socially cohesive population that respects differences within its citizenry. Achieving cohesion is a challenging and ongoing effort that demands the attention and investment of many actors across society’s many sectors, including philanthropy and civil society.

National service learning lab

Formally launching this September 2023, the National Service Learning Lab will strengthen relationships and peer learning between and among those who are currently funding national service or are interested in learning more to support the field in the future.

Faith in/and democracy

Launched in 2019, Faith In/And Democracy (FIAD) is a funding and learning initiative to explore the ways faith and faith communities support democracy and civic life. PACE leads and administers this initiative because we believe faith can ease divisions that plague our political processes and social fabric.
