Description: PACE and our members believe civic engagement can be a powerful tool for generating positive outcomes, including health and other elements of community well-being. Not only can individuals be mobilized to help you achieve your mission and expand your reach, empowering individuals to take action on causes helps them build the skills and networks that contribute to their personal development. Civic engagement is good for individuals, organizations, communities, and democracy.
This May 19 webinar highlighted the work and learning of two foundations focused primarily in the arenas of health and vitality, and showcased ways they have integrated a civic strategy into their issue portfolios. They shared specific examples of how and why they’ve done this, and discussed the benefits and challenges of positioning civic engagement and democracy building as a strategy for philanthropy.
