Toya Fick, President and CEO of Meyer Memorial Trust, reaffirmed the organization’s unwavering commitment to justice and equity, emphasizing that progress requires action, not just hope. “Justice doesn’t bend on its own. It takes work, courage, and collective action to ensure the arc moves in the right direction,” Fick stated. As threats to civil rights and vulnerable communities intensify, Meyer is responding with urgency, committing $1 million in rapid-response funding to organizations on the front lines, including the ACLU of Oregon, Western States Center, and the Rural Organizing Project. The Trust is also increasing support for immigrant and refugee communities while working to strengthen coalitions and advocacy efforts across the state. Read more.

In light of recent political challenges, Katherine Christiano, Chair, and Peter Haas, Vice Chair, of the William Penn Foundation Board of Directors reaffirmed their commitment to supporting communities facing uncertainty, especially those at risk due to federal actions. “Your leadership in serving, protecting, and uplifting your communities has never been more necessary,” foundation leadership stated, emphasizing the importance of collective action in these times. The foundation is committed to being flexible and responsive, offering support where needed to nonprofits facing new challenges. It also highlighted its new grantmaking priorities aimed at fostering inclusivity and supporting organizations led by people of color.
