Over the past several years, we have heard a persistent question from funders across the country: “Am I a civic funder? And if so, what does that mean in practice?”
Sometimes this question comes from a democracy funder looking to deepen or formalize their work in this area. More often, it comes from a funder focused on health, education, faith, youth development, the environment, or a particular place asking how they can contribute to civic life while fulfilling their core mission.
We believe every funder already shapes civic life. The question is whether you do it intentionally and with positive impact.
“All Funders Can Be Civic Funders” is a new guide released by Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement that provides clear entry points into civic philanthropy and offers practical ways to deepen and amplify the civic impact of the work you’re already doing.
During this webinar, PACE will:
- – share the guide
- – introduce you to the four practices of a civic funder
- – spotlight real-life examples of civic funders
- – walk you through a short civic funder self-assessment
- – answer your questions about what it means to be a civic funder
Whatever happens on an Election Day, the work of strengthening civic life continues, and every funder has a role in it. We look forward to supporting you along your journey!
